About the event

Shared as a community event; this program is presented by MetroStage and is not sponsored by the NAACP.

Featuring Robert E. Person

Join us for a powerful musical journey tracing the Negro Spiritual from its origins to its profound influence on Jazz and Gospel. Experience the melodies, stories, and rhythms that became the spiritual backbone of American music. We will be honoring the songs that carried faith through sorrow, hope through struggle, and truth through generations.

These are not just songs of the past—they are the spiritual foundation of American music, including such beloved classic songs as He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands and Deep River. Background vocals provided by Sherice Williams, Ronnette Rollins, and Chad Gilbert. Band will be Allyn Johnson (piano), Romeir Mendez (bass) and Carroll Dashiell (drums).
